🦆 Tonight’s the Night! 🦆

Join us for Duck Variations tonight at the Bonifas Arts Center Studio!

🕡 Showtimes: 6:30 PM & 8:00 PM
🎟️ Admission is FREE
⏱️ Approximate run time: 50 minutes

Written by David Mamet, Duck Variations is unlike anything we’ve done before. This unique production is made up of 13 short variations, each directed by a different director.

Every scene begins the same way—two people sitting on a park bench—but each explores life, death, friendship, love, the environment… and, of course, ducks. 🦆

This project was created as an experimental workshop, bringing together directors of varying experience levels to explore their own artistic vision in a fun, supportive environment. The result is 13 unique interpretations of the same play, each with its own style, pacing, and perspective.

A heartfelt thank you to all of our directors and actors for embracing this project with creativity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to try something new. We also want to thank everyone who has supported this experiment from the very beginning.

Come see what everyone has created—and who knows? If this project is any indication, you never know what Players de Noc might do next. 😉

🦆AUDITIONS ARE HERE!🦆

Still thinking about trying out for The Duck Variations? Here are 9 great reasons to join us!

🦆 It’s a short commitment.
With a rehearsal process of just 2½ weeks and performances on July 17, it’s an easy way to fit theatre into your summer.

🦆 It’s low pressure.
This project was designed to be fun, relaxed, and welcoming. Whether you’re brand new or a seasoned performer, you’ll fit right in.

🦆 You’ll get to work with a unique director.
Each short variation has its own director, creating a fun variety of styles and experiences.

🦆 Keep your theatre muscles in shape.
Miss being on stage? Want to build your confidence before your next audition? This is the perfect summer opportunity.

🦆 You’ll get to be part of all the fowl puns on Players de Noc social media over the next three weeks.

🦆 Where else can you tell your director to “duck off” and stay in character?

🦆 You finally have an excuse to spend an evening talking about your secret passion—ducks—and have people applaud afterward.

🦆 It’s cheaper than therapy… and probably has more ducks.

🦆 No experience? No problem!
Anyone entering high school and up is welcome. Whether it’s your first audition or your fiftieth, we’d love to see you there!

🦆 CALLING ALL POTENTIAL DIRECTORS! 🎭

We're still looking for at least *4 more directors* to join our summer Duck Variations project!

Have you ever been curious about directing but weren't sure where to start? Have you directed before and want a fun, low-commitment creative challenge? This project is designed for exactly that.

Duck Variations by David Mamet is made up of 14 short scenes (or "variations"), each functioning as its own mini production. Every director will be assigned a variation, cast actors from a shared audition, and guide their piece from rehearsal to performance.

🎬 Directors of all experience levels are welcome.

Never directed before? That's okay!

A Directors Seminar will be held prior to auditions to help participants learn, ask questions, and prepare. The goal of this project is to explore the art of directing and creating theatre in a supportive environment.

✨ Fun
✨ Creative
✨ Collaborative
✨ Light-hearted
✨ No pressure

Directors will be responsible for scheduling rehearsals and coordinating rehearsal space, either in the Players Scene Shop or another location of their choosing.

📅 Important Dates:
• June 15 – Deadline to sign up as a director
• June 16 – Directors Meeting & variation assignments
• June 23 – Directors Seminar
• June 30 – Auditions
• July 17 – Performance

🦆 About the Show:
The Duck Variations features two people sitting on a park bench discussing life, death, friendship, love, and ducks—often with humorous and misguided authority. It's witty, thought-provoking, and a perfect playground for directors to experiment and learn.
