Get Bopped!
♥️****EDIT****♥️
Hey folks! Happy Sunday! ☀️
How did everyone do this past week? Can you believe we’re already at the end of July?!
I just want to take a minute to thank each and every one of you for your continued support throughout this journey. It has opened my eyes—and my heart—to a whole new side of our community and what it truly means to show up for one another.
You all are genuinely the reason for Betty’s success. I’ve said it before, and it’s worth saying a million more times: I show up because you show up. Thank you for believing in this crazy dream of mine and for supporting small businesses like mine. It truly means everything.
A special thank you to Nicole and everyone at Ashley Furniture—yesterday was simply outstanding. I was honored to be part of the Escanaba Downtown Relocated event. What you and your team did to support our local businesses came straight from the heart. It was such a selfless act, and I sincerely hope it was a wonderful experience for everyone involved.
As for this week…
I’ll be taking today (Sunday 7/26) to catch up on quotes and tend to a few personal shenanigans. 😅 I’ll also be taking Monday (7/27) and Tuesday (7/28) off to help my folks lay block and tackle a few masonry jobs around the U.P.
Here’s where you can find Betty this week:
📍 Wednesday (7/29) – Rapid River, MI
🕚 11:00 AM–3:00 PM (or so)
10467 S Main Street
We’ll be feeding the wonderful folks from the MEA Teachers Union and the Rapid River USPS! We will absolutely be open to the public, though things may be a little busier from approximately 12:00–1:00 PM while we serve these incredible groups. If you’re in the area, stop by, grab a potato, and come say HIIII! 👋🥔
📍 Thursday (7/30) – Escanaba Pop-Up Market
🕓 4:00 PM–8:00 PM
Corner of 15th Street S & 1st Ave S, Escanaba
If you’re driving over, I recommend taking 17th Street and turning left onto 1st Ave S. There’s convenient parking in the lot directly behind the market.
📍 Friday (7/31) – GFS, Escanaba
🕚 11:00 AM–3:00 PM (or so)
1126 N Lincoln Rd
Whether you’ve been with me since day one or just discovered Betty yesterday, thank you for making this little food trailer feel like so much more than a business. Every smile, every conversation, every shared meal, every recommendation, and every person who chooses to spend even a few minutes with us helps keep this dream rolling down the road.
I also wanted to ask for a little help from our community.
One thing I’ve struggled with is seeing perfectly good food go to waste at the end of an event. If there’s one thing I know, it’s that there are families, individuals, and neighbors right here in our community who could use a warm meal.
I’m interested in donating leftover meals at the end of events to families, shelters, churches, food pantries, or organizations that are able to accept them. I know this is my business, and of course I have to make a living, but I also believe we’re called to care for one another whenever we’re able. If I can help someone go to bed with a full stomach instead of throwing food away, that’s exactly what I want to do.
If you know of an organization—or even a family—in the U.P. that might benefit, I’d be so grateful if you could point me in the right direction. Feel free to comment below or send me a private message.
I hope you all have a beautiful, restful Sunday. Take some time to slow down, love on your people, and be kind—you never know how much someone might need it.
Much love,
Jessi ❤️🤙🏼
