Fiber crafts have taught me one important lesson: I don't know how to count. Or rather, I lose track of what number row I'm on very very very easily! Thankfully, 's Chain Row Counters take over for me and help me keep my sanity. Whether knitting or crocheting, these numbered chains hold the "memory" of what row you're on or which number pattern repeat you've finished so you don't have to. Holly Benzenhafer!

Recently The Lake Erie Fiberarts Guild held a show titled "A Common Thread." We want to emphasize that art made from fibers comes in many different varieties. Member Kristen Hydinger submitted a Cross-Stitch made by her mother, Holly Benzenhafer, in 1985 titled "Be an Individual."

This project was a true community effort and I am grateful both to the Lake Erie Fiber Guild and 1020 Collective for creating the opportunity to share it with the community, many of whom contributed to the piece.

Recently The Lake Erie Fiberarts Guild held a show titled "A Common Thread." We want to emphasize that art made from fibers comes in many different varieties. Artists often collaborate as in this Erie Community crochet project assembled by Stitches of Erie owner, Kristen Hydinger, titled "A Community Housewarming."

Four upcoming crafting events for your summer schedule! The Melt the Ice Bandana workshop has sold out, BUT the Crochet for Kiddos workshop has 2 spots left. And (most) June programs are up on the website now too. We've got our first ever needlepoint workshop on June 6th, a Pride-themed cross stitch workshop on June 15th, plus the Crafter's Movie Night on June 13th. Still to get finalized for June or July: An amigurumi crochet workshop and a summer tank top craft-a-long.
