Happy Pride Month from the Mercyhurst Theatre Program 💗

06/01/2026

As Broadway celebrates the Tony Awards this Sunday, we're reflecting on just a few of the remarkable artists who have graced our stages over the past nine seasons.

From Bernadette Peters and Patti LuPone to Darren Criss, Audra McDonald, Melissa Errico, and Artist-in-Residence Betty Buckley, MIAC has connected Erie audiences with some of Broadway's most celebrated performers.

The next chapter begins this season. Join The 501 or The Silver Circle by June 5 and help make it possible: https://miac.mercyhurst.edu/501-silver-circle

Did you know that Mercyhurst University students get unrestricted access to Mercyhurst Institute for Arts & Culture programming as part of their liberal arts education? In addition to FREE tickets to all MIAC Live performances, students have opportunities to participate in lectures, dinners, masterclasses, workshops—and even perform alongside world-class artists.

These transformative experiences are made possible, in part, through the generosity of our 501 and Silver Circle members. Learn more about supporting MIAC at https://miac.mercyhurst.edu/501-silver-circle.

World-class artists. Right here in Erie.

This season, MIAC welcomes Ann Hampton Callaway, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Patrick Page, Betty Buckley, Claybourne Elder, and more without the travel, hotel costs, or New York ticket prices.

By joining The 501, you’re not only gaining access to extraordinary live performance and exclusive member events—you’re helping sustain bold, professional arts programming in our community.

Be part of what keeps the arts thriving at Mercyhurst.

Join or renew by June 5: https://miac.mercyhurst.edu/501-silver-circle

Bravo to our Acting 3 students on today’s juried final presentations. From Greek tragedy to Shakespeare to Restoration comedy, the work reflected discipline, commitment, and a thoughtful application of the tools explored in class. We’re thrilled that everyone will be returning in the fall for more classes, more productions, and continued exploration of the craft.

We're excited to announce our fall musical, "Disaster!," coming to Mercyhurst University's Taylor Little Theatre Nov. 5-8.

Earthquakes, tidal waves, infernos, and the unforgettable songs of the '70s take center stage in Broadway’s side-splitting homage to classic disaster films.

With larger-than-life characters, snappy dialogue, and some of the most recognizable songs of the '70s, "Disaster!" will have you dancing in your seats and rolling in the aisles.
