Dance teaches you something school and work will eventually demand from you: listen to the feedback, be patient with the process, do the work, and take responsibility for your results.

Another fantastic Dance Essentials class! 🩰✨

This week, we welcomed Jessica Ruf to talk about all things hair! From performance ready hairstyles and styling techniques to hair care, healthy habits, and tips for keeping our hair looking its best, our dancers learned so much! 💇‍♀️😍

A huge thank you to Jessica for sharing her knowledge and helping our dancers feel more confident both in and out of the studio! ✨

Progress is rarely dramatic. Sometimes it looks like finally landing the skill you’ve been working on for six months. Sometimes it looks like making the same mistake slightly less often. Both are concrete steps towards your goals.

Another fantastic Dance Essentials class today! 🩰

This week, we had the pleasure of learning from Mary Moser, violinist and music educator, alongside special guests David Moser, cellist and solo dancer in Erie’s Nutcracker, and Johnathan Moser, longtime conductor of Erie’s Nutcracker orchestra.

We explored Musicality & Understanding Music in Dance, learning how to better listen to music, recognize rhythm and phrasing, find our internal sense of the beat, and connect what we hear to how we move.

Thank you to our wonderful guests for sharing your knowledge and helping our dancers hear music in a whole new way! 🎻✨

The dancer who learned how to walk into a room full of people they don’t know and still do the work is building confidence that goes far beyond the stage.
