We are profoundly sad to share that our dear friend, longtime board member, and past president, Carl Larese, passed away yesterday morning.

For decades, Carl was a constant presence in our Playhouse community. Though he rarely stepped into the spotlight, he did everything he could to make sure the spotlight was shining brightly on others. His leadership as a board officer, his gratitude toward our staff and volunteers, and his generosity as a patron of the arts leave a lasting imprint. He supported our company members during countless greenrooms. He attended every production, bringing his grandson, Logan, whenever he could. And of course, he always made sure our Playhouse events had the most beautiful flowers.

Our hearts ache to think of a Playhouse -- and a world -- without Carl in it. We are grateful for every moment, and we cherish every memory. We dedicate our production of 1776 in his honor.

On behalf of the entire Playhouse community, we extend our deepest sympathy to Jim, Nick, Logan and the entire Larese family.

Please be mindful that, while the family is grateful for those who would like to support Larese Floral Design, they are currently unable to fulfill your orders. We will share updates from the family on other ways you can honor Carl’s memory in the future.
