20 slides. 20 seconds each.

Pechakucha is a compelling storytelling format—fast, focused, and surprisingly moving. Each speaker gets exactly 20 slides shown for exactly 20 seconds apiece, creating a rhythm that keeps you locked in from start to finish.

This Thursday, June 11, we're hosting four Spring Show award winners—Greg Zbach, Justin Elliot Poole, Janet Dodrill, and Adrienne Borkowski—as they take the stage to share the stories behind their work.

📅 Thursday, June 11 | 6–8 PM

🎟️ Included with Museum admission

Pride in the Collection was everything we hoped it would be–and then some.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on June 6 for what turned out to be a warm, joyful evening celebrating LGBTQ+ artists in our permanent collection alongside up and coming artists from our local colleges and universities.

A heartfelt thank you to the people who made it happen:
To our university partners— Gannon University, PennWest Edinboro, Penn State Behrend, Allegheny College —and to the student artists whose work gave this evening its heart: Gaby Reyes, Joey Downey, Gideon Hermann, Wren Shultz, Milo Terry, Maeve McCormick, and Sunny Stout. We are so proud to share your art with Erie.

To Potratz Floral Shop & Greenhouses, Herb and Honey Bakery, and Make It Fabulous Catering & Special Events for the flowers, pastries, and catering that made the evening feel as beautiful as it looked.

To Board Member John Champagne, whose vision brought this event to life, and to Chuck Scalise, who championed it every step of the way.

And to Bill Lechner—thank you for the most wonderful piano stylings of the evening. ♥️🎵

We've collected some of our favorite moments from the night in a photo album. See you there: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1653222746806860&type=3

What a way to kick off the summer. Brooke Surgener opened our Mid Day Art Break series on the Zaphiris Family Patio today—one hour of live music, free admission, and a little breathing room in the middle of the day.

The series runs the first Wednesday of every month through the summer. Next up: July 1.

Happy Pride Month from the Erie Art Museum. 🌈

For the month of June, you'll notice our logo has a new look—a small but intentional way of marking what we believe: that the LGBTQ+ community is part of the fabric of this Museum and has been for over 100 years.
This is a space for everyone. And we mean everyone.

We're also celebrating with something special this month—Pride in the Collection, an inaugural evening reception on June 6 honoring LGBTQ+ artists in our permanent collection. Tickets are on sale now: erieartmuseum.org/pride

Look at this dream team—even if the lighting had other plans. 🌟 (That's why we added labels!)

Mural artists Sarah Howard and Gaby Reyes, filmmaker Jackie George, and our Executive Director Laura Domencic came together at the brand-new mural project at 10th & State—the former Avalon Hotel—for something worth stepping into the sun for.

Laura was on-site to share her thoughts on why art matters to Erie, and honestly? This image says it all, backlight and all. These people are actively shaping our city through placemaking, and we couldn't be more proud to be part of a community that creates like this.
