A classic summer pop song from Canadian artist Jesse Roper. Nice loose feel yet plenty of energy. They actually look like human beings having fun playing music. This has been stuck in my head for several days now. I heard this first on Wide Cut Country with Allison Brock on CKUA.com.

The great French film actor Alain Delon has passed on at the age of 88. My favorite Delon performances are in the 1960s films he made with Jean-Pierre Melville, including Le Samourai (photo).

Russell DeCarle is a Canadian artist and former leader of the band Prairie Oyster. He is more Western than Country, maybe a 60/40 ratio. Here’s a whole set with his amazing band. No drums, but wicked understated grooves. The more I see of him the more impressed I am.
