Film Erie Directory Spotlight: Taylor Rhoades

Taylor is a Writer, Director and Actor from Meadville, Pennsylvania. Ever since making his short film “Pig Hill” in 2016, he has been involved in film, especially after meeting Jacob Perrett and the two teamed to make the feature length anthology film “Weird Fiction”.

Taylor continued to act and help throughout productions on Perrett’s films - In 2025, he acted as Arthur in the film Photo Negative. In 2025, Taylor took an interest in making atmospheric music under the name “Unordinary Owls” which led to him creating the music for Perrett’s YouTube channel “Something Sinister” and creating the score for his first feature length film “Late Night At The Movies”.

At the beginning of 2026, Taylor and his team made Late Night At The Movies, his first full length film and filmed it at Taylor’s job at the Movies At Meadville where he is a Manager. Ever since seeing Kevin Smith’s Clerks in high school, Taylor knew he wanted to make movies and all these years later he is doing so.

Wouldn’t your film look great here? 🌻☀️

Each summer, acres of sunflowers bloom at the Hagen History Center’s Battles Farm in Girard, Pennsylvania, transforming the landscape into a sea of bright yellow.

The Girard Sunflower Festival celebrates the fields at peak bloom, with the towering sunflowers creating a colorful backdrop throughout the season.

Beyond the sunflower fields, Girard offers a mix of historic and small-town scenery, from its historic downtown and Main Street to surrounding countryside and Lake Erie landscapes.

Whether it’s a field of sunflowers in full bloom or the character of a historic Pennsylvania town, Girard offers filmmakers unique locations just a short drive from Erie.
