Meet the Knights: Dame Valdis Marna!
Dame Valdis is the first-born daughter of a wealthy maritime trade-house who rose to power during the height of the Crown of Aragon. Despite her cunning and competency in both martial and political affairs, Valdis is perpetually overlooked by her family in favor of her younger brother, Victor, their chosen heir. While one might expect this to cause a rift between the siblings, it shockingly forged their bond stronger. On the tourney field they fight side by side--Victor claiming the spotlight and Valdis working from the shadows. There is much to be accomplished when working from the shadows, a lesson Valdis learned early and uses to her advantage often.
She regularly employs a diverse arsenal of devious tactics--distraction, intimidation, manipulation, and bribery are all employed to achieve her ends.
Valdis is also an ardent patron of the arts, and uses her family's wealth to surround herself with beauty and fine craftsmanship in all things, including weapons, armor, and the finest steeds España has to offer. In this, she embodies House Marna's highest values: Money and Style.
