Just finished outlining ACT I of Draft 7E of my play “Tortured & Scarred: The Lost Souls of Paris! So ACT I has 5 scenes and ends on a cliffhanger!😉 There are at least 3 important plot lines/character arcs to be resolved in ACT II! Lives, reputations, and more hang in the balance!

Recipe No. 1567! Couldn’t let Cinco de Mayo go by without creating another twisted libation, so say “¡Hola!” to The Headless Sombrero, a dangerously delightful concoction that will cause you to lose you head at some point in the evening. Then there will an empty sombrero on top of your clothes while you’re dancing naked on the bar while everyone else is laughing or running away in horror (shouldn’t have ditched the Spanx😵‍💫🤦‍♀️). The next morning you’ll find your head again … and really wish you hadn’t because it’s throbbing like you lost a bullfight and got locked in a room with the loudest mariachi band on the planet. ¡Salud!

This original recipe is made with:
- 3 oz. Cazadores ( ) Tequila Reposado
- 1 oz. Don Q ( ) 151 Rum
- 1 oz. Mr. Stacks ( ) Crème de Banana Liqueur

Writing anything is an exercise in imagination, inspiration, dreams, frustration, anger, hopelessness, compromise, and a whole bunch of other emotions until you actually craft your masterpiece (at least that’s what you hope it will be)! I’ve been working on my play for nearly a year and it seems just as far from completion as it did when I started. However, that’s an incorrect assessment. Yes, I’m on draft 7C, but my characters are more developed and I have much more clarity of their progression. Honestly, I don’t have a timeline I need to meet!

Recipe No. 1566! The Common Sense Divatini was created in response to a request from a longtime friend who wanted me to develop an approachable cocktail that would go down easily and then smack you upside the head. This original recipe is smooth and sweet on the way down, but it’s a wrecking ball later when it hits you upside the head with blunt force trauma! Say goodnight, turn out the lights, the party’s over! (Extra points who used to say that on Monday Night Football years ago!) Why call it Common Sense? Any drink with 151 Rum is inherently dangerous, like a hot stove eye. Unfortunately, you will ignore the warning signs and knock back a couple of these. In the morning, you’ll have a raging headache while debating the virtues of mint-flavored Preparation H! (It’s gross as it sounds.🤪) Santé!🍸💀

* 1.0 oz. Butterscotch Schnapps
* 0.5 oz. Ginger Liqueur
* 1.5 oz. Irish Cream
