Lumi-Cards take on a magical luminescence using newer printing technology on Metal; the sublimation process. Because the image is infused into the surface of the metal card, and not on it, the archival qualities of this unique printing process are unparalleled. Our cards meet the U.S. Postal Service requirements to be sent through the mail! REFASHIONING THE ART OF THE

Being diagnosed with colon cancer in 2013 was a milestone in my life. Everything changed; my living and economic circumstances, my relationship with my adult-children - for the better, my love life, my spirit and outlook on life, just to name a few things. And then there was my relationship with work. Because of the residual effects of the treatments that saved my life, I was forced to alter how I was going to make a living. I began to despair. And then one day, I was very fortunate to be asked by a third party, to take her place and house and pet sit for a woman who lives near the ocean on a hill in Del Mar, California. This fortuitous position became pivotal in the creation of Periwinkle Greetings & Collections. Being around those loving animals, in a beautiful and peaceful home, and near the ionic charge of the magnificent ocean, was healing to my spirit, as well as my physical health. I was thankful to be there. I was grateful. It was not work, it was joy. When there, I awoke every morning with the grandest view and the cuddling by such cuteness. I became inspired to get back to my photography and began taking photographs of all that stirred my senses. One night, I was awakened by the bright light of the full moon shining through the window. The moon was stunning, so big and bold! I got up, grabbed my camera and walked out onto the deck and began shooting this spectacular full moon, through and around full-grown foliage and evergreens, as it was setting and reflecting off the ocean. The glistening beauty kept me up until dawn. From those photographs, I was moved to find a way to represent this beauty in the most artistic way I could discover. I found and worked with a local company to print these photographs on metal. After seeing the piece come to life on metal, so vibrant and luminescent, the idea came to me that I could print small pieces and share them with my friends and family as Christmas and New Year’s cards. I did just that! I printed a dozen metal pieces; a luminous image on one side, and plain metal on the back, which provided an area to write my message using an indelible ink pen. And from there – my path was set! I knew now what I wanted to do, and make a living doing; printing images, and now so luminously, using this newer technology, and refashioning the art of the greeting card and postcard; and then…sharing them with the world! One thing has led to another on the journey to Periwinkle Greetings & Collections. And what a tremendous journey we are on! I am grateful to the multitude of people along this path who have contributed toward the genesis of PG&C. And I am looking forward to meeting the next multitude in the future, as we here at PG&C continue to grow. There are so many artists around the world, which we are on course and set to meet! These artists will be able to share their work; their art, to the world, through our design and goal of refashioning the art of greeting card and postcard.
