So many of us have learned to live from the neck up.
We think our way through our days.
We override discomfort.
We dismiss exhaustion.
We move quickly past the quiet signals asking us to pause.
And then we wonder why we feel far away from ourselves.
This is a simple practice for returning, not through analysis, but through contact.
Take three minutes.
Place one hand on your heart and one lower on your body. Let your breath move downward. Allow your body to sway, soften or stretch without deciding what the movement should look like.
Then ask:
Body, what are you trying to tell me?
What do you need from me today?
Listen without demanding an immediate answer.
The response may arrive as a word, an image, a sensation, an emotion or a quiet knowing. It may be as simple as water, rest, movement, nourishment, a boundary or the courage to speak something true.
Then choose one small way to honor what you heard.
Because embodiment is not only noticing the body.
It is allowing the body’s wisdom to have a voice in how we live.
Save this for a day when you feel scattered, disconnected or caught in your thoughts—and return when you need it. 🩷
