After decades of dedication, two people who helped shape the Meherrin River Arts Council are stepping away from their roles.
Steve Bloom helped form the MRAC in 1976 and was instrumental in launching the first performance series in 1978. Over the years, he has booked nearly 200 shows across 46 seasons.
Wilson Clary joined the board in 1989 and became President in 1991. His leadership carried the MRAC through 34 seasons and 133 shows over more than three decades.
While stepping down from these roles, both will remain on the Board of Directors, continuing to share their knowledge and support the organization moving forward.
We are incredibly grateful for everything they’ve given to the MRAC and to this community.
Because of them, the foundation is strong. As we look ahead to the election of a new president in the coming weeks, we’re excited to build on that foundation in a way that feels fresh, engaging, and worth showing up for.
If you’ve been part of the MRAC over the years, we’d love to hear a favorite memory—or a quick thank you to Steve and Wilson.
