The Highland Renaissance Festival began June, 2006, and is a 1300 Period Festival that offers a wide variety of activities and entertainment. There are 9 stages of continuous entertainment daily, including LIVE Combat Jousting, Period Music, Dancing, Reenactment, Fire Juggling,
Sword Swallowing, Acrobatics, Mud Show and much more. We have activities for all ages, including Human Chess, Hand Pow

ered Rides,
Games of Skill, Face Painting, Hair Braiding, A Children’s Area and more. You can enjoy some period food and drink as well in our Great Hall,
or even a pint of Ale form one of 2 Pubs. We have over 75 merchants and artisans that sell and demonstrate items such a clothing, jewelry,
handmade blacksmith wares, soaps, herbals, mugs, children’s games and more. The 2021 dates are June 5th - July 18th, 2021 (weekends only) Celebrating 16 YEARS!

🎵We are excited to WELCOME BACK Hexxen for the 2026 Kentucky Highland Renaissance Festival for ALL weekends (except weekend three)

▪️Hexxen is what happens when you take a collective of ritual/folk musicians, and let them weave Germanic, Nordic, and Irish traditions together to provide a space and sound of atmospheric and diasporic storytelling. Hexxen is a gathering of diasporic voices and spiritual expression; their performance becomes a shared ritual for all who gather to listen.
▪️Through evocative lyrics in ancient and modern languages, and with a blend of old and modern instruments, Hexxen creates immersive soundscapes that move between past and present. Telling stories and tales of the magic and lore of old through song, as well as messages for modern times.
▪️Rooted in ancestry, ritual song, sound and animism, Hexxen calls with drum, horn and voice to those that would heed!

are a husband-and-wife team of escape
artists and circus performers. Judas and

✨️Norðanfólk weaves together a rich musical tapestry of Nordic folk traditions, seamlessly blending driving rhythms, layered vocal harmonies, and an array of traditional instruments— including multiple talharpas, nyckelharpa, and hurdy-gurdy. With vocals exclusively in Norwegian, Icelandic, Karelian, and Old Norse, this Texas-based four-piece performs original works and beloved Nordic folk favorites that stir the blood and connect with the soul. Making their Kentucky debut this season, Norðanfólk invites festivalgoers to don their finest furs, gather their clans and kin, and raise horns in celebration of the music and culture of the PEOPLE OF THE NORTH! ▪️Pictus has been thrilling audiences all over
the country with their unique take on primal
drums & bagpipes. You can feel the thunder
of the war drums and hear the call of the
great Highland bagpipes and let the music
lift your spirits, stir your soul and speak to the
voice of your ancestors.
▪️But Pictus is not simply a “bagpipe and drum band” for there are stories, tales and jokes to be told by Oengus Mac Og, the drummer & voice of Pictus. There is Irish and Scottish Highland dance provided by the energetic and beautiful Ceilidh Shillelagh. there are Irish pennywhistle and original compositions by Tallisyn. ✨️🎵The Whiskey Witches are where harmony meets hijinks, and every tune comes with a side of chaos.
