Everyday packing tape becomes a vehicle for exploring contemporary anxieties and emotional labor in “TRYING TO HOLD IT ALL TOGETHER.” The utilitarian aesthetic of shipping materials is an opportunity for transforming the mundane into metaphor. The phrase performs dual labor both describing the tape’s literal function while excavating deeper truths about collective psychological strain.

A few of the beautiful new jewelry pieces by artist Michael Michaud in the Art Shop. This unique jewelry is made by creating molds directly from botanical elements in a process similar to lost-wax casting. While traditional lost-wax casting begins with a hand-carved model of wax, Michael Michaud instead uses an actual leaf, branch, or flower in place of the wax model. A mold is created around the botanical element and, as it is heated, the plant matter burns away and leaves behind a beautifully detailed mold of itself. Come on in and score a new piece for yourself or someone special. Support real brick and mortar shops and keep your neighborhood interesting. Real art on real walls.
