Materials, mark-making, and form & volume
Still life and contour drawing
Negative space and composition
Hands and leg posture
Head drawing and facial features
Portrait drawing and group critique
Learn to work with vine and compressed charcoal, develop shading and blending techniques, and strengthen your observation and drawing skills.
Instructor: Priyanka Gawande
Priyanka holds an MFA in Painting from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco, and has exhibited in numerous juried shows. Her work spans still life, landscape, and weathered Americana, with a particular focus on beautifully rendered reflective and weathered surfaces.

‼️ Bay Area artists ‼️ friendly reminder that we, the Bay Area Models’ Guild hosts figure drawing sessions on Thursdays from 7-10PM and Sundays on an ongoing basis from 9:30AM-12:30PM at ✅
Tickets are $20 per session if purchased online at www.bayareamodelsguild.org, or $25 at the door.

Each session will be curated by the model, with an option to either default to standard pose times OR incorporate elements like storytelling, themes, props, lighting, and music to create a unique and engaging experience. Models will have the option to set the structure and timing of poses, allowing each session to reflect their individual style and artistic vision.

Explore Short Pose and Gesture Drawing
You’re invited to a figure drawing class on Sunday, May 31! This session will focus on short pose figure drawing, beginning with quick 2-minute poses and gradually working up to 20-minute poses. We’ll emphasize gesture drawing, making it a great chance to loosen up your sketching skills and capture dynamic movement.
The class is open to all levels, including beginners-everyone is welcome! Please note that participants must be 18 or older to attend. Charcoals, paper, and drawing boards will be provided, but feel free to bring your own favorite materials if you’d like.
More dates will be announced soon, so stay tuned!
We encourage you to register in advance to secure your spot.
You can bring your preferred drawing/painting materials if you like.
