Let’s see your pictures of the 2026 Blues BBQ.

I’ve got nothing - so busy running around herding cats that I didn’t get picture 1.

Let see them… pics or it didn’t happen.

Thanks everyone who came out and enjoyed a great day. The weather literally blew everything and everyone out before the end of Clarence’s set, but most of the day was beautiful, the crowd was great and hopefully everyone made it home and dried out. We were NOT pelted by softball sized hail, so we’re calling it a win.

We did end up selling out and closing the gates to non-ticket holders, sorry about that, but we just don’t have the capacity to park and the space to comfortably accommodate any more patrons.

We’ll be back June 5th 2027… The Coventry Lions Club appreciates everyone who came out helped us to serve our community!

I’m sure you’re sick of my posts - but I promise that I’ll shut up after Saturday.

A few “Can Eyes”…

Can I bring a cooler? Sure, we hope you will support our vendors, but you are welcome to bring a cooler. We’ll even help you haul it in.

Can I bring my dog? Wyndsor has asked us to restrict dogs, but if you have a well trained, leashed dog who loves the blues, we’ll let them in as “musical support dogs’. Just leave Cujo at home as we can’t have dogs running around or scaring kids.

Can I get a refund if I can’t attend? Sorry, but we can’t provide refunds, but if you can’t use your tickets this year, let us know beforehand and we’ll let you use them next year.

Can I stay over until Sunday morning? Sorry, you don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay past closing (7:00). However, if you have overconsumed, please leave your car and get a ride home, you can pick it up on Sunday.

Can I bring a grill? Sorry, no flames. This is about our only hard fast rule. Reference Michael Scott, Foreman Grill injury.

OK - here’s schedule for Saturday.

Gates open at 12.

1:00 Voodoo Deville will start playing around whenever they finish screwing around with their sound gear and lead guitarist finishes his makeup. Guest bass player for this first set will be a big upgrade over usual clown who will be herding cats and trying to keep trains on the track.

2:00 Dave Mell Blues Band - These guys have been rocking local venues since the early 1900s. They are tight, talented and a blast. They blew the roof off the beer tent last year (and almost cost us our security deposit).

3:45 Roger Girke - Roger and his band have played a couple of blues BBQs in the past. His all star, award winning band never disappoints. Roger started with a coal burning guitar and has played millions of gigs since. His show is not to be missed.

5:30 Clarence Spady. I first saw Clarence at the Bandana Blues festival in the 90s and that event (at Sleepy Hollow Athletic Club) was the inspiration for the CCBBQ. You will want to stay to the end (7:00) to hear every note of Clarence’s guitar!

The Coventry Lions screened over 1000 local preschool kids for vision problems this year through our KidSight program. This computerized scan is often the the only way to detect problems early enough to correct them. We’ll have our KidSight trailer at the BBQ and it only takes a couple of minutes to have our volunteers check your kids vision. If you have unused glasses you can also drop them off at the KidSight trailer and we’ll get them to those who need them.

This is just one of the programs your ticket price helps us provide… we appreciate your support and stretch every dollar to help our community.

See you Saturday - it’s going to be a great day.

FAQ: Question - Do I need to bring my own food and beverages?

Answer: You are welcome to bring in your own stuff, but we’ve got great options for sale and when you buy from our vendors you’ll be sticking it to the man and supporting local family run businesses instead of worldwide, blood sucking, comglomerated megabusinesses.

Stampede Barbecue is our barbecue vendor - world famous for their smoked meats and sides - they got their start in 2012 with a roadside stand on route 23 and now have a fantastic full service restaurant on route 10 in Mohnton. Their brisket and ribs will turn any hard core vegetarian into a carnivore.

Sly Fox will be serving cold beer from their local family owned brewery in Pottstown that has been brewing great beer for over 30 years (before everybody’s cousin uncle and brother in law opened a microbrewery).

The Mohnton Lion Clubs will be selling hot dogs, soft pretzels and soft drinks to support their club and its community service.

World’s largest outdoor h***y tonk, circa 2024. Tickets are not sold out so we WILL be accepting cash at the gate until we hit our limit, but it’s $30 at the gate and $20 if purchased online. So save 10 large and stick it to the man by going here. https://www.tix.com/ticket-sales/coventrylions/6904/event/1460202

Wyndsor Farm has been hosting the blues BBQ for years. We’re grateful for their steadfast support. I don’t even like having my in-laws over and these guys host thousands every June. I don’t want to give a way their surprise, but I think they may be bringing in the Budweiser Clydesdales this year as I spotted this guy with a suspicious disguise morning. Touche Wyndsor!

FAQ: Should I come to the blues BBQ or stay home and cut my lawn.

ANSWER: If you stay home and cut grass, you’ll end up with green sneakers and a yard that will be overgrown again in a few days and you won’t remember a thing about it a week later. If you come to the blues BBQ you’ll meet old friends and make new ones while creating memories that will last through the years. And you’ll help the Coventry Lions provide free vision testing to preschool kids and help the needy in our community. Your call, but I’d go with the cold beer, smoked meat and live music!

FAQ: Do we provide a safe space at the Chester County Blues BBQ?
Answer: The whole darn BBQ is one huge safe space. The crowd is so friendly that you'll want to take them home with you (although we advise against it). You'll also be safe from politicians, insurance salesmen, clowns, religious cults, pontificators, backbiters, syndicators, UFOs and inflatable bounce houses. We got you covered, come out and enjoy live music in the great outdoors. See you on June 6th.
