In the Department of Theatre and Dance at Principia College, we continually ask ourselves, “How can this dance class, theatrical rehearsal, or design project impact the lives of students, both on and off the stage?” Our underlying belief is that the arts are relevant to our society, our daily lives, and our world, and that they have the potential to change these things for the better. Our task is

to find ways in which to engage students in attaining deep self –awareness, compassionately observing their surroundings, and being “in the moment.”
