Iroquois students shine at the Erie1 BOCES Student Art Challenge!

Nine students from the Iroquois Central School District recently participated in the Erie 1 BOCES Student Art Challenge, where more than 270 student artists gathered to compete in a fast-paced creative competition.

Students arrived with their own art supplies and received the creative prompt upon arrival. With only two hours to complete their artwork, they were challenged to quickly develop and execute an original piece based on this year’s theme: Transformation.

Our students did exceptionally well and brought home several awards!

🏆 Intermediate Category
• 1st Place: Keva W. (Freshman)
• 2nd Place: Keating K. (Sophomore)

🏆 Emerging Category
• 2nd Place: Devin R. (8th Grade)
• Honorable Mention: Adelene S. (6th Grade)

🏆 Advanced Category
• Honorable Mention: Samantha J. (Senior)

We would also like to recognize Olivia E., Julianna F., Isaac J., and Fiona D. for representing Iroquois and participating in the challenge.

We are incredibly proud of all of our artists for their creativity, courage, and dedication!

The Marilla Primary art show was a huge success last night! Huge shout out to Miss R. .r and the Marilla Primary artists for coordinating such a great show!

Last high school competition of the year was the WNY woman’s federation show in Holland. Iroquois Central School District students were awarded 17 ribbons in total!

Q&A- Iroquois Central School District art show!
When- Tuesday May 6th from 6-8 PM (awards at 7. If you aren’t present for awards and you win, your art teacher will hold it for you!)
Where- The Columns in Elma (attached to Alton’s!
What- Our student artwork on display K-12, drop by to see some amazing artwork (no food banquet or tickets required), Face (hand) painting, and Ice cream truck to purchase ice cream.
Another event?- No worries! Drop by before or after, take photos with your work and head on out to your game/practice/dance/concert!

The Iroquois district art show is moving to a new location for 2025 to bring our Art into our community! This select show will take place at the Columns in Elma. No tickets required, this is not a dinner/banquet, just a celebration of our students hard work, come check out the beautiful artwork that is being created by the k-12 artists at Iroquois!
