Things are officially heating up...

There's a kiln now in the space and firing, just as clay programming is finding its stride. It may look like one piece of equipment, but it marks an important step toward supporting more hands-on creative opportunities right here in downtown Ellsworth.

The classroom is filling, the clay is moving, and 16 State is continuing to take shape!

The Makerspace at 16 State Street is looking for Volunteer Gallery Stewards to welcome visitors and help keep our gallery open and accessible.

No gallery experience is needed, and training is provided. Even one shift a month makes a difference.

bad news: Summer of Clay is officially halfway over.
GOOD NEWS: Summer of Clay is only halfway through.

That means three more weeks and three more handbuilding projects to discover in the classroom. Each class introduces a new technique and a new functional or decorative piece, with plenty of room for beginners and returning makers alike to build confidence, get creative, and connect with clay.

Spots are open in all remaining classes. Tuesday sessions are your best bet, as Thursday classes need at least six participants to run. Have a group of six? Thursday is ready for you!

The first week of six has passed for Summer of Clay but there is still plenty left to make!

Individual registration remains open for the remaining Tuesday and Thursday classes, with limited spots available throughout the series. For Week Three: Drinking Vessels, Thursday is the only date still available.

Choose your project and join us for an evening of handbuilding at 16 State. All materials and firing are included, and no experience is needed.
