One other quick mention. A lot of people have noticed some songs they have never heard or that seem familiar but can't place on WLRE Radio lately. The reason for this is because we are playing new Traditional Country Music artists. What does that mean well let me explain. Some people say we play old country music, that is only partly true. The truth is we play Traditional Country Music, not Pop Country, not Rock Country, not Rap Country like a lot of other so called Country Music stations who blend it all together and try to call it country music. Some of the songs you are hearing are Traditional and Orginal real Country songs by new young country artist like Zach Top - Sounds Like The Radio, or Alex Miller - Second Hand Smoke, Ruby Lee - Cowboys Sweetheart, The Alaskan Sunnyside Sisters - You Don't Know My Mind, Alex Key - Huanted House, Cori Kennedy - Who Shot The Water Tower, and many many more, there are over 150 new young people bringing back Traditional Country Music, real Country Music, not old country music Traditional Country Music. We are going to do our best to get most of them on WLRE Radio so they won't be so hard to find scattered over media and the internet. Keep listening for these new young preformers, they are really good.

Now that the weather is warming up we will soon get our regular antenna system back on the tower. It's been a while since Hurricane Helen tore them up and we been on tempory antenna at 1/3 our normal range. This will be corrected soon.

Also we need to mention we are currently changing sound and computers to upgrade and update our equipment here at the station. If you happen to notice any interruption in our signal or service we won't be gone for long but some changes just can't be made while we are still on the air. Thankyou for understanding as these improvements will soon get WLRE back to it's normal self again, I know it's been a while coming but it's almost here.

WLRE Radio 96.5FM is working on getting our normal antenna system back up the tower. As most know we have been on a temporary antenna since Hurricane Helen which only gives us 1/3 of our normal range. Now that the weather is starting to warm back up we should be able get them put back up soon.

We are very lucky to have electricity again after Helene but due to trouble with the temporary antenna on our tower now as well as still not having the permanent antenna system fixed yet it will take a little more time to get WLRE Radio back on the air again.

As I woke up this morning I found out on Facebook that Joey Nuggs had passed away during the Laborday weekend. I first met Joey in 2006 while doing the radio announcing for CWA Pro Wrestling out of Orangeburg SC. We recorded over a hundred commercials together for CWA. Joey did a morning show for WLRE Radio for a while and promo commercials for the station, his most famous one was This is Joey Nuggs CWA Pro Wrestling Manger, your listening to WLRE Radio The Best In Hometown Country Music tune it in and rip off the k**b. RIP Joey.
