This year’s light show is supporting Isaiah Clouser. He and his wife are both graduates of West Perry, and currently have 2 children attending Susquenita. Isaiah is currently battling pancreatic cancer, which has significantly affected their ability to work. We are collecting donations to help their family while going through a rigorous treatment plan.

This year we are collecting donations to support Chad Tressler of New Bloomfield. Chad is the son of Sherry and Randy Tressler and older brother of Kevin and Seth. He has two children that attend West Perry. Chad is an active member of the New Bloomfield Fire and Ambulance Companies. He is also an avid supporter and coach of local youth soccer programs. Chad has been battling numerous health issues including colon cancer, as well as other ailments to lungs and thyroid. His battle to regain health also puts him in need of a heart valve replacement and having his spleen removed.

We are continuing the Christmas tradition of helping others by collecting donations to support a local cause. This year, we are assisting Jason Barlup of Newport. After a seemingly routine eye doctor appointment and subsequent battery of tests, Jason learned that he had stage 4 cancer that had spread throughout his body. The treatment has taken a toll on Jason and left him paralyzed from the waist down. The Kolak Christmas Light Show is humbled to bring some support to Jason and his family during this time of hardship.

Starting in 2012, we were surprised to help raise $1,774 until last year when we were absolutely amazed to raise nearly 10 times that amount. We have been fortunate to receive over $95k in support of local families over the previous 11 years thanks to the generosity of the community, and look forward to continuing helping people.

Adam Williams was diagnosed with a rare liver cancer back in June of 2020.

This year’s recipient of donations is Adam Williams, West Perry class of 1995. He is married to Shree, class of 1997, and they have a son, Noah, who is now a senior at West Perry and twins, Aiden and Gavin, who are in 8th grade. After high school, Adam attended Liberty University and recieved his Bachelor’s degree in Religion. He became a youth pastor at the Church of the Living Christ outside Loysville where he met his now wife, Shree.

In 2017 the family moved to Maryland but shortly after being there began to have health concerns. He got a routine CT scan which raised some concerns and led to a biopsy 2 weeks later. The biopsy revealed that he had stage 3 cancer of the liver and chemotherapy commenced. The family moved back to Perry County in 2021.

After 10 months of intense chemotherapy Adam was given a break to prepare for a liver transplant. During a surgical evaluation of Adam’s health status, done just before the operation is initiated on the donor, surgeons discovered that the cancer had spread and was now at stage 4. The transplant was called off and surgery was performed to remove what they could of the cancer.

Adam is now receiving chemotherapy that is suited for a quality of life during his remaining time, rather than a cure. Adam will always have hope, he has already outlived the life expectancy of others with this diagnosis, and is mostly focused on making his remaining time, quality time. The Light Show has chosen Adam for this year’s recipient to help lesson his financial strains so he can focus on what’s important. Please join us helping this family through the holiday season.
