Three Announcements: It is with a sad heart that I have to make the decision to cancel our 2026 Drama Camp at The Playhouse. Simply put, we needed at least two more teachers and we could not get them. In order to facilitate a safe and satisfying camp these persons serve necessary roles. We will start a campaign now to put together a team for 2027 so that we can offer this next summer.
2. We are also looking to hire a part time Production Manager. This person will be the liaison with the directors of plays, make sure their needs are met, that casts are taken care of, and the Gilmer Arts standards of quality are maintained. You will work with the theater committee and front office to schedule, be part of designing marketing and keep budgets and productions on track. We do approximately five community theater productions a year. You must be comfortable working with children as well as adults. 3. In addition, we are looking for a person who has a passion for theater, knowledge of theater, and love of people of theater to serve as the chair of our theater committee on the Board of Directors. As Chair of the committee you will lead the committee to pitch, read, and choose scripts for the next year's schedule, assist with the vision of what marketing should be for the productions and season, and help develop a program of classes and theatrical experiences. Board seats are two year renewable terms.
