I spy… a lovely day!☀️🗺
May you discover beauty everywhere you look for it!🌰 🐚 💦
When a friend asked me to make this scavenger hunt for kids coming to visit I had no idea how much fun painting these wild treasures would be.
🦋 ⛅️ 🍃
And then it seemed only fitting as a birthday card for my Aunt Shirley who, just the other day, sent me a video of a snail working its way slowly across her lawn. 🐌 🐌 🐌
Whether walking her dog, scaling a mountain, weeding the garden, making a fresh salad, or hunting tiny seashells on beaches and little wonders in rocky beds - she is always on the lookout for the beauty in the world. 🌎 😊 🌱
I’ve put the shop on pause to hunt for my own treasures but I highly suggest making a scavenger hunt of your own…because, when you look for beauty you are sure to find it! 🔭 🎨 ☺️

I love starting the day at ground level in the fairy garden. What began as a gift to my daughter from her Grammy has turned into one of my favorite ways to wake up - checking on the little homes and their wee inhabitants - observing the changes as plants grow around the humble abodes, whirlybirds land in the village, & light filters down from the trees. This lovely dreamland is where stories are born. Just yesterday I caught a bunny eating flowers there. I couldn’t help but think of Beatrix Potter and her creations.

One of the things I love about art is that I can always make the sun shine by painting, even on the cloudiest days!

This card was inspired by my Grandma Onalee, who painted delicate flowers on bone china. I never had the chance to get to know her, but I sure would have loved to spend the afternoon enjoying a spot of tea with her.

I like to think her creativity is steeped in my bones.

Her spirit lives on in our family heirlooms - here’s one of my favorites...

🔭 In search of sustainable solutions...from the beginning we’ve kept our wrap Earth friendly:
📦 Reusing & repurposing shipping supplies
🌱 Choosing compostable materials
🧶 Securing with H**p twine instead of tape

It’s become a fun challenge & I think the packages look just beautiful. One of my favorite solutions is using paper bags from those inevitable occasions when I forget my reusables & turning them into functional art!

With roots that go down almost 10 feet and a bud emerging directly from the ground, it’s no wonder the leafless, scaly stemmed Coltsfoot is the earliest blooming wildflower in Northeastern North America!

It was a joy to spot a bunch of this mud season flower on my morning walk. As the forest’s symbol of hope it has a lot to teach us about roots & resiliency.

This special place reminds me of our honeymoon in Paris, where we strolled through parks and museums, enjoying lazy afternoons surrounded by birdsong and engaged in heartfelt conversations.

While we aren’t quite ready to travel to Europe again, we do love visiting local parks for relaxing mental vacations in the meantime.
