The time has come! Tonight I’m signing off social media for the next six months. 🌙
Social media has been so helpful in spreading the word about my art, events, and mission as an artist. But (as we all know by now), it’s highly addictive and inhibits creativity due to the constant comparison that it breeds. As a self-employed artist, it also brings about the constant nagging feeling that you’re never doing enough, which interferes with deep creative work.
My approach isn’t to delete the apps entirely (yet), but instead to use them for seasons when networking and marketing are crucial for my work, and to get rid of them when I have periods where I want to focus on meaningful creative work and be fully present in my own life, community, and family.
I have a lot of cool art things happening in the next 6 months, so it feels a little bit risky to be closing off this line of communication. BUT I have an active monthly newsletter where I’ll be sharing info about my three upcoming exhibits, new artwork, talks, and workshop dates. I also share bits and bobs about life as an artist and my nature adventures. Subscribe at rosaliehaizlett.substack.com and you won’t miss a thing!
Thank you to the wonderful folks who showed up for my book events and workshops this fall, purchased my art for holiday gifts, and took the time to share an encouraging word about my work.
Wishing you all the warmest, most beautiful 2025! ❄️
