West Virginia Highland Dancers

West Virginia Highland Dancers Competitive and performance Highland dance group based in Elkins, WV. We offer classes in the Elkins area, as well as online classes via Zoom.

The West Virginia Highland Dancers is a performance and competition group based in West Virginia. Dancers range in age 3 through adult. The group is directed by Katy Dillon, Member, BATD. Group members have won top awards at the regional championship level, as well as the national championship level, and many members have gone on to become certified teachers through the British Association of Teachers of Dancing.

🥇 Adult World Champion — Marielle Lespérance 🇨🇦 Nova Scotia

From Scotland to Canada, these remarkable dancers have showcased extraordinary skill, precision, strength and dedication on the Highland dancing stage.

A fantastic achievement for all three champions — and a proud moment for their families, teachers and communities. 👏🏴

This is extremely hard news to share. Paul Thompson was one of the kindest and most intelligent human beings one could ever meet. He and Sarah Jean were huge supporters of our group and left long lasting impacts on the Scottish community in the US. They will both be missed so much. We'll be dancing this year for you, Paul and SJ!
