What do Creed, Sinatra, and JJ Babbitt have in common?

Iconic musician and Creed/Alter Bridge guitarist Mark Tremonti took the stage at the Belmont Stakes with Tremonti Sings Sinatra—and leading the band was none other than Mike, serving as musical director for the entire project.

Mike isn’t just a world-class saxophonist—he toured as a saxophonist for Frank Sinatra, Frank Sinatra Jr., and many more. He now serves as our Director of Artist Relations and is a key design consultant on Meyer Bros. mouthpieces and more. His artistry shapes not just the music, but the very tools great players use to create it.

We’re proud to see him representing JJ Babbitt at such an iconic event.

Every great hard rubber mouthpiece starts with a mold—and inside a mold, a core.

These are a few of the cores used in our molding process for Meyer mouthpieces. Since the 1930s, Meyer has used a vulcanized hard rubber molding method to form the initial shape of each piece. These cores define the basic interior geometry—setting the stage for everything that comes next.

But make no mistake: this is just the starting point.

From here, every piece is meticulously hand-finished by our craftspeople—refining the facing, rails, tip, and chamber until it becomes the responsive, resonant, and reliable mouthpiece players count on.

With Meyer, precision begins with the mold… but greatness is carved by hand.
