Dear Friends of Baker Street West,
Please mark your calendars for Sunday, February 15 at 2:00 pm for a gathering in the Baker Street West Theatre. On that afternoon, Baker Street West shall unveil an exciting new venture: One designed especially for our actors and crew, would-be actors and would-be crew.
In partnership with Jackson Community Studio (JCS), under the direction of Mike Morrione, BSW and JCS will begin producing short films as a fundraiser. This undertaking offers every Baker Street Player, Holmes’ Hound, and Friend of BSW an opportunity not only to perform on camera, but also to explore the worlds of cinematography, digital set design, visual effects, and lighting and sound within a film environment. It is, in short, a chance to grow one’s creative skill set both before and behind the lens.
This new initiative complements a lively and ambitious production agenda already ahead of us, including Moriarty by Ken Ludwig, scheduled to open April 17; Summer with Sherlock, our Youth Theatre program (dates to be determined); Sherlock Holmes vs. Dracula by John Lee, planned for September/October; and Sherlock Carol by Mark Shanahan, opening the Friday after Thanksgiving and running for three weekends.
Our aim is excellence: to learn, refine, and deliver high-quality productions, with a view toward eventually completing one film per month, drawing from the Sherlock Holmes stories we so dearly love and admire.
If you are interested and want to be involved in any of these endeavors, we wish to hear from you.
If you would like to schedule an audition to be a Baker Street Player, we wish to hear from you.
If you have questions or ideas, we wish to hear from you.
If you have a particular role or talent to contribute or technical interest in mind, we especially wish to hear from you.
We are eager to connect not only with performers, but also with those interested in technical theatre and stagecraft, marketing and sales, and backstage support. In short, do let us hear from you. Be ready and willing to roll up your sleeves and put in tireless effort and dedication.
If you desire to be involved, kindly contact Mrs. Hudson ([email protected] or [email protected]), and please be sure to reserve February 15 at 2:00 pm for our introductory gathering.
With enthusiasm for the adventures ahead,
Mrs. Hudson and
The Good Folks at Baker Street West
along with
