I did this piece very quickly after waking up from a dream about a woman with a rainbow ribcage. This was before I learned anything about yoga or had ever taken a yoga class. The first time I ever found myself in a Child's Pose, a short time later, was one of the many times I contemplated in awe over the infinite wonders of our shining Universe.✨

Exciting goodness! Had a couple of requests to get some notecards in the inventory, and I have officially crossed them off of the neverending 'to do' list!

I guess I am due for a PSA small business owner post. When everything sold in my shop is handmade, I fully and completely accept that occasionally, things break. Even though I do a thorough Santa Clause style (check it twice – at least) quality control method with ample trial and error experience, there are factors – inconsistent materials, adhesive not working correctly, product transport in bins and vehicles packed and unpacked, sometimes with careless but well-intentioned helpers, human error in general, unsupervised children, unsupervised adults with alcohol, extreme weather shifting conditions etc. – that can affect the outcome. I once purchased and used a pack of faulty jump rings and did not realize it until 8 earring pairs in.

So yes, things break. And yes, I am always happy to repair or return your items for free if that does happen – within a reasonable timeline and for a reasonable reason. When I am working at a show, and you demand I fix something after 8 years of heavy wear and tear for free, is where the PSA comes in. This has only happened twice in all the years of making wings, specifically (one person folded them after I specifically instructed them not to fold them), but in a world of entitlement and demand, and as a recovering chronic people pleaser, this feels important to write about. Our work takes time and care, and quality and joy is paramount to the experience we wish to provide. We want our customers to walk away feeling cared about and respected, and we need our services to be treated with the same concept.

We are not robots, we have faces and feelings, and our time and skills are valuable. For many of us, this is our income, and if you would like to have something you broke repaired, you need to 1. Ask kindly 2. Pay for those services. If it is in our wheelhouse to do it, we are happy to make it happen, and if we cannot, can likely refer you to someone that can. Just speak to us as a fellow human.

So yes. To wrap up: 1. DO NOT FOLD YOUR WINGS 2. DO NOT ACT LIKE A DOINK

Will be hanging out at Gallery 51 in Downtown Lititz until 1:30! Stop in and check out this beautiful Gallery space featuring the work of over 30 local artists!

There is also an incredible raffle going until the Grand Opening, September 12 where you can win original pieces from many of the Lititz Art Association Members.

Tickets can be purchased in the shop for $5 each, 3/$10, or 10/$25. Winners will be contacted after the grand opening drawing at 1:00 on September 12.
