Hardin County Playhouse Ghost Walk Volunteer Sign-Up 👻🧟

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for this year’s Ghost Walk! We’re looking for storytellers and tour guides to help bring a spooky night of local tales to life throughout downtown Elizabethtown.

This year’s theme is ZOMBIES! 🧟‍♀️🧟‍♂️ Volunteers are encouraged to dress as zombies, ghosts, or other macabre characters to help create an eerie atmosphere along the route.

📅 Ghost Walk Dates
Friday, October 23rd & Saturday, October 24th
7:00–10:00 PM

All volunteers should arrive by 6:30 PM to check in and get into place before tours begin.

We will also have a private Ghost Walk event on Saturday, October 17th. More information about this event will be provided as details are finalized.

👻 Volunteer Roles
Storytellers — Ages 16+
Storytellers will be stationed at designated locations throughout downtown Elizabethtown and will perform the stories for each tour group as they arrive.

Tour Guides — Ages 18+
Tour guides will lead groups along the Ghost Walk route, taking guests from storyteller to storyteller and helping keep their group together and on schedule.

🗺️ Volunteer Meeting & Walk-Through
Sunday, October 4th at 6:30 PM

We ask volunteers to attend this meeting so we can assign roles, walk through the downtown route together, and review safety precautions, expectations, and event procedures.

The Ghost Walk takes place at various locations throughout downtown Elizabethtown, so volunteers should be prepared to spend much of the evening outdoors and, depending on their role, walking or standing for extended periods.

Whether you’ve been on stage for years or have always wanted to give theatre a try, Hardin County Playhouse Youth Dramatics is the perfect place to grow your confidence, make new friends, and have a lot of fun along the way!

As a new school year begins, we’re excited to welcome both returning and new students for another year of learning, laughter, and creativity. We have exciting opportunities ahead, and we’d love for you to be part of them.

🎭 Join us on Tuesday, August 11 for our next Youth Dramatics meeting! If you’re in 6th-12th grade, come see what we’re all about. No auditions, no pressure—just a welcoming place to learn, create, and be yourself.

We’re excited to announce a new chapter for Hardin County Playhouse Youth Dramatics!

Join us on Tuesday, July 14, from 6:30-8:00 PM as we kick off our meetings at our new location!

📍 Colvin Community Center

**EDIT At the Colvin Community Center's RESOURCE building. (On other side of police station.)

After that, we will continue meeting every second Tuesday of each month.

Youth Dramatics is open to students in 6th-12th grade, and we’d love to welcome anyone with a passion for theatre—or anyone looking to build confidence and try something new!

What can you expect?
• Meet other students who share your passion for the performing arts.
• Build stage presence, confidence, and public speaking skills.
• Learn about the world of theatre while developing valuable real-world skills.
• Hear from guest speakers with experience in different areas of theatre, giving students the opportunity to explore acting, technical theatre, directing, stage management, and more.
• Enjoy an encouraging environment full of fun, laughter, creativity, and learning.

With Hardin County Playhouse moving into a new location, we’re excited for the opportunities ahead and the continued growth of our Youth Dramatics program. We can’t wait to see what’s next and hope you’ll be part of it!

There is no cost to participate. Donations are always appreciated but are never required.

⏰ PERFORMANCE UPDATE ⏰

As of right now, today's 2:00 PM performance of HCP's The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical is on a ONE-HOUR DELAY to allow the ground and stage area additional time to dry.

This is your LAST opportunity to see our production, and we're doing everything we can to safely make today's performance happen!

If you're planning to attend:
🪑 Please bring your own lawn chairs or blankets for seating.
👟 Please use caution and watch your step on the grassy slope leading to the audience area. We expect conditions to continue improving by showtime, but we appreciate everyone's patience as we prioritize safety.

We will continue to monitor conditions and provide any additional updates if necessary.

Thank you for your understanding and support of our incredible cast and crew. We hope to see you this afternoon for one final adventure at Camp Half-Blood! ⚡
