Did my first live prophetic drawing at Lakeside worship center in Elizabethtown Ky women’s conference! And wow is an understatement! God is truly so so good!

“Clothed”

This piece is truly made from Matthew 6:28-34.

“So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your Heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

This piece is for my churches women’s conference and I wanted it to show who God says we are not whom we say we are!

Lamb of God

This piece is a picture of the Gospel, simplified into one picture. Not just the suffering of Jesus, but the reason He came.

The crown of thorns represents the suffering He willingly carried for us. The darkness surrounding Him represents the brokenness and sin of the world, yet even in the darkness, the Light remains.

The star points to Christ, the Light of the world. The dove represents the Holy Spirit, and the lily represents life, purity, and resurrection. Every piece points back to the same truth: Jesus is the Lamb of God who came to take away the sin of the world.

He was wounded, rejected, and crucified, but the grave did not have the final word. What looked like defeat became redemption. What looked like death became life.

When I look at His face, I see the weight He carried, but I also see that the story didn’t end there. The cross wasn’t the end. The grave wasn’t the end. Jesus is the Lamb of God, and He gave His life so that we could have life.

Everything in this piece points back to one thing: Jesus.
He was wounded for us, He died for us, He rose again, and He is still worthy of it all.

He is the Lamb.
He is the Light.
He is the Redeemer.
And He is still worthy.

Frog portrait

This piece shows that we can sometimes overlook the simplest parts of God’s creation. A frog might not be the first thing we think of when we think about something beautiful, but God created it too. Every little detail, every color, every weird little feature was still something He chose to make.

That’s what I love about this piece. It’s just a frog, but it’s also a reminder that nothing God created is meaningless or accidental.

This is part of my Creation Series, along with my bird, turtle, and deer. Each piece has made me stop and look a little closer at the things God created that I might normally overlook.

But this frog also starts something new for me. It is the first piece in my series on the Ten Plagues of Egypt.

The plagues are such a powerful and honestly intense part of Scripture. I don’t want to paint them in a way that only focuses on the destruction and judgment. I want to capture the power behind the story. I want someone to look at these paintings and be drawn in by what they see, and then realize there is a much deeper story underneath it.

Because before this frog represented a plague, it was God’s creation.

And I think that makes this piece even more meaningful. Something so small and ordinary can become part of a story that shows just how powerful God is.

Created by God. Used by God. Part of a story much bigger than itself.

This is the piece I got inspired to do this morning during service!

This piece is about spiritual perspective and how different things can look depending on where you are standing.

The snake represents the enemy. In the air, the snake is vulnerable because it was never made to be there. It doesn’t have the same power it has on the ground. The dove represents the Holy Spirit. In the air, the dove is where it belongs and has the freedom to move, but when it comes down to the ground, it becomes more vulnerable.

To me, this is a picture of how spiritual battles work. The enemy can look powerful when we look at things from an earthly perspective, but that doesn’t mean he actually has the power we think he does.

Then there is the fire. The fire represents God’s presence and His power surrounding the whole thing. This isn’t just a battle between a dove and a snake. There is something happening spiritually that we can’t always see with our natural eyes.

Sometimes we give the enemy more power than he actually has because we are looking at the battle from the wrong perspective. But when you step back and see it spiritually, you realize that his power is limited.

The enemy might have power in certain places, but he does not have power everywhere. And he definitely does not have the final say.

My newest piece
“Thirst”

A bit different then my typical art pieces!

“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.” — Psalm 42:1

This painting is based on one of my favorite verses in Psalms. When I think about a deer searching for water, I think about how desperately we need God. A deer doesn’t go to the water because it’s just something nice to have. It goes because it needs it.

I think sometimes we forget that we need God just as desperately. We try to find satisfaction in so many different things, but nothing can truly fill the place that only God can fill.

I wanted this painting to capture that moment of the deer coming to the water, but also to represent us coming back to God. No matter how far we’ve wandered or how empty we feel, He is still there, ready to refresh us.

My prayer is that my heart would always long for God like this deer longs for water. That I would never become so comfortable or distracted that I stop seeking Him.
