For 32 years, American Grands has been a cherished Fox Valley tradition and a breathtaking musical spectacle. Featuring 12 Steinway Concert Grand Pianos and nearly 400 local performers, ranging from budding young pianists to accomplished adult musicians, American Grands is a powerful celebration of the piano and the passionate community that brings it to life.

Performances are at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, at the Elgin Community College Arts Center's Blizzard Theatre. Register at elgin.edu/americangrands. Registration deadline is Thursday, September 4, at 11:59 p.m.

IT'S FUN FACTS FRIDAY! Your exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Elgin Community College Arts Center's upcoming 2026-27 season.

Big band energy is back when The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra returns with its brand-new show, "Broadway to Bourbon Street," to the ECC Arts Center on November 20. Here are some fun facts about these southern gentlemen:

1. New Orleans Meets the Great White Way. This high-energy spectacular fuses some of Broadway's biggest hits ("Guys and Dolls," "West Side Story," "Hairspray") with the raw, soulful swagger of Louisiana brass.
2. A Real Second Line Parade: True to New Orleans tradition, the show features a lively Second Line parade that will have everyone cheering and dancing.
3. Lifelong Friendship. Bandleaders Jeremy Davis and Clay Johnson met in junior high band class in Louisiana and have been making music together for over two decades.

AUDITIONS ARE NOW OPEN for ECC Theatre's Fall Drama. "The Man Who Came to Dinner" by George S. Kaufman & Moss Hart.

When an egotistical, urbane critic gets stranded in a small Midwestern town, it sets off one of the funniest American comedies of all time, with a cast of characters that provides a three-ring circus of farcical machinations and celebrity satire.

CAST: We're looking for 15-18 actors of all ethnicities and genders, ages 16+.

AUDITIONS: A one- to two-minute monologue is suggested but not required.

DATES: September 8 & 9 | 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Elgin Community College Arts Center FUN FACTS FRIDAY! Next in our behind-the-scenes look at the CenterStage season is the colorful, family-friendly show "Sugar Skull! A Día de Mu***os Adventure. Here are four fun facts about this vibrant show ahead of its October 17 performance at the Blizzard Theatre.

1. Fully Bilingual and Bicultural: Designed for audiences of all ages, the musical seamlessly blends English and Spanish dialogue with traditional storytelling, making it accessible and engaging for the entire family.

2. Regional Mexican Rhythms: The show's soundtrack is catchy! It features authentic regional folklore music from across Mexico, including Son Jarocho, Ranchera, and Mariachi traditions.

3. Meaningful Traditions. Rather than a spooky Halloween story, "Sugar Skull!" dives into the real heart of Día de Mu***os, a joyous, beautiful celebration of memory and family, honoring loved ones who came before.

4. Meet Candy Skeleton! The adventure begins when young protagonist Vita, who thinks her family has gone loco planning Día de Mu***os, is taken on a magical journey after a spirited, living candy skeleton springs to life.
