Due to inclement weather remaining through this afternoon, WPFAC will be closing for the day (7/30) effective immediately.

We will reopen again tomorrow (7/31) at normal hours for another fun filled day at the pool!

Due to low attendance, Wing Park Family Aquatic Center will be closing early at 6:00pm this evening. Please also note that concessions will close at 5:15pm.

✅ FACILITY REOPENING UPDATE ✅

Good news! The sewage backup has been cleared, and our staff is currently hard at work sanitizing the affected areas to ensure a safe and clean environment for everyone.

We’re excited to share that the facility will reopen today at 3:30 PM! Thank you all for your patience and understanding while we addressed the issue.

🚫 TEMPORARY CLOSURE NOTICE 🚫

Due to a sewage backup in the locker rooms caused by inappropriate items being flushed, we are required to temporarily close the facility to resolve the issue.

Our team is actively working to clear the obstruction. If the issue is resolved quickly, we may reopen later today, depending on quantity of items flushed down our toilets. We will continue to post updates as we have them. Thank you for your patience and understanding! 💧

As a friendly reminder, please only flush toilet paper down the toilets. Flushing other items causes serious plumbing issues and facility closures. Thank you for helping us keep everything running smoothly! 🙏

We’re excited to share that Wing Park Family Aquatic Center will reopen today, July 2! 💦☀️

Following our annual inspection, we needed to address an issue involving the screws on our main drain covers. Thanks to the quick thinking and outstanding teamwork of our staff, the issue was resolved efficiently — without needing to drain the pools.

A special thank you goes to our Pool Technician, Kevin Smart, who completed the necessary underwater repairs using a pneumatic drill, allowing us to move swiftly and safely through the process. We’d also like to recognize Brandon Daufenbach, Land Management Supervisor, for his innovative suggestion to utilize the pneumatic drill underwater — a key factor in expediting the solution.

With approval from IDPH already in hand, we’re thrilled to welcome the community back to Wing Park just in time for the busy holiday week. Thank you for your patience and continued support — we look forward to seeing you at the pool!

We want to let you know that we are temporarily closed while we address a maintenance issue that came to light during a routine annual inspection today, 07/01.

The inspection revealed that some of the pool’s main drain covers are in need of additional screws. To comply with Illinois Department of Public Health safety regulations, we must fully drain the pool and complete the necessary repairs before reopening. This process will take several days, and we are working diligently with the goal of reopening by July 5.

In the meantime, we encourage you to visit Lords Park Family Aquatic Center, located at 325 Hiawatha Dr., which remains open to the public.

We will once again be closing early today, 6/22, at 5:30pm due to water clarity concerns. We will open again tomorrow at 12pm.
