Oh wow, it's been a bit since I've posted something. That's because I've been pretty busy this year.

I started teaching quilting at the Pine Level Senior Citizens Center twice a week and have some really great students (and would love to have more if you're interested).

I'm also going to be at the Rockin' the River festival in Elba, Alabama on May 2nd. Be sure to stop and say "hi"

Now this quilt below was a gift for a very old, very good friend. Old as in we've known each other forever - not age, and good as in very good. Horses are in Brenda's blood from the time I first met her, so it is only fitting that they are in her bed too.

This was just a classic "Ohio Star" pattern with a horse print in the center of the star. I really liked the way the sashing looked like tooled leather, and of course it was only fitting that I quilted horses all over it.

A herd of horses for a great friend that deserves a whole herd.

My Grandmother passed away over 50 years ago. She had unfinished quilt tops that my mother saved. Then I saved them for another couple of decades. When I learned how to longarm quilt I was so afraid to touch them for fear I would ruin them.

Finally, I worked up the nerve and picked a pattern and just did it. It was a fabulous feeling loaded with so much emotion. I had to really work around a lot of fullness in the top (as you can see hanging down on the left side of the first picture. Since the quilt top had so many sharp angles, I used a bubble pattern to try and soften it.

In the end, it gave me another day with my Grandma and made a great gift for my brother.

Here's to a wonderful New Year for you all, but don't forget those wonderful memories from years past.

Ready or not, here it comes! Christmas is right around the corner and with it comes a beautiful Christmas quilt. This on is the 12 days of Santa. I actually cross stitched the 5x7 Santas while in Iraq in 2017/2018. It kept me busy and the supplies took up minimal space.

After getting home, they just sat around waiting for me to do something with. I sashed them and put a holly design around them. This one was really challenging because there was a little stretch and give to the cotton fabric, but none to the Aida cloth of the cross-stitched pieces.

It didn't come out perfect, but it's completed and I can bring it out every Christmas and remember those Christmas's across the pond. So very different and that ache for home was so big in my heart. It's so good to be home and doing what I love on a daily basis. God is good. Merry Christmas to you all.

It's December and time to show all those Christmas quilts. This beauty is a wrap size, perfect for snuggling in with a cup of cocoa while watching Lifetime Movies. LOL. I quilted gold cardinals with holly on it, and the binding was done in red to match the poinsettia.

Well, its Fall and I'm still in Spring. Have you ever seen anything so pretty in your life? This one was so fun to quilt, with butterflies all over it, and the vivid pink backing went perfectly. What an interesting pattern too. I've never seen something like this one in my life. I have to find the pattern!

Vacation is over and its past time to get back to quilting. It was wonderful to get back home and see the fields of ready for harvest. The sea of cotton is gorgeous in the early mornings. I even went to the Fall Festival nearby last weekend and it really puts me in the mood for Fall; harvesting, canning and cooking.

I wish the color on this quilt came out better in the pictures. It is the color of a Carhartt jacket - you know that brown orange color, like a pumpkin pie (told you I was in the mood for Fall). So with that lovely color I knew I had to do something special and manly on this quilt. I love these tractors working all over this quilt, I can almost hear them.

Hope you enjoy this one even though the picture doesn't do it justice.

Anchors Aweigh, my boys, Anchors Aweigh! Now here's a simple two color, double Irish Chain quilt. The anchors definitely make is scream "Navy" or "Ocean'. It's a really large quilt at 90" x 90". This one is for sale, if anyone is interested just let me know.

Another chapter in my book of quilting has opened! I am officially moved to Elba, Alabama and am almost ready to open up shop here. I have a huge quilting room that is not in my house (maybe everything in my house won't be covered in dust now). I just got my business cards on Friday, so the only thing I'm waiting on is for a walkway to go to the door of my shop.

I've started looking into Quilting Guilds up here so I can get my name out and get things on the road here.

Here's to new beginnings.

I Love this!!!!! This was a panel I snagged on our last RV trip. It made a good sized "whole cloth throw" to go in the RV for those chilly evenings. We are slowly checking off the National Parks in our travels. I quilted a cute little RV, travel trailer, and camper pattern on it, but kept it pretty low key so as to not take away from the images.
