I had a lovely time hosting these fantastic couples for a Valentines Day Air Bnb Experiece Pottery Wheel Class!

All Experiences include a 2 hour lesson with clay, firing, and glaze. Students may retrieve work once completed or pay an additional fee for shipping.

Wedding ceramic production:

For those who were unable to attend and I made 150 cups by hand as our wedding favors. They were a combination of hand thrown and slip cast from our own moulds, all hand glazed (dipped or painted) with iron oxide and a combination of Amaco Celadons. We designed the emblem and had a stamp created. It was a time intensive labor of love and we learned a ton!

We had help from the wonderful in firing the cups and general advice and lent a hand for glazing.

We are so appreciative for all of the help we were given and for all of you who were able to attend and celebrate with us last October.

De Anza High School Ceramics Student Projects from various assignments this year.

Assignments:
Some are shown as works in progress (WIPs)

Make whatever you want (last project of the year)

Coil Vase: must be made of coils with the coil texture on the outside. Vases must be glazed with a wipe back technique to highlight the texture and lines. Must be at least 6 inches tall.

Animal pinch bowls: make a pinch bowl with walls that are ~1\4" thick throughout. Learn to score and slip to attach sculptural elements to create an animal. This was their 1st assignment of the year.
