Come join in on the big celebration! MCAD is excited to announce the fifteen-year anniversary of Chalk the Block which will take place in the heart of the Downtown Arts District on October 7-9, 2022! What started out as a one-day event featuring twelve artists has now transformed into a three-day event, featuring over 100 local and touring artists. This year’s theme will be “15 years in the 915" t

o celebrate and commemorate our "quincinera!" As part of this momentous celebration, MCAD will be showcasing the local artistic talent that makes El Paso unique. Chalk artists, musicians, muralists, and arts and crafts vendors are centered in this year’s event along with unique installations from nationally recognized artists.

🚨Announcement 🚨due to sustained inclement weather, we’ll be closing our festival a few hours early today. We’re so thankful to everyone who joined us to draw, see our traveling installations, enjoy live music, shop with our artisan vendors, and more.

Chalk Art Awards are announced in an hour, at 1pm inside the MACC auditorium! All our chalk artists, families, and community members are welcome to join us as we see who wins all five of our amazing prizes.

Our judges were able to get their results in before the rain picked up, and we’re also very excited to announce this year’s People’s Choice Award, sponsored by Raiz Federal Credit Union!
