Unfiltered Signal” presents a deeply personal body of work by artist Scott Hovis, rooted in his experience navigating Tourette’s, perception, and the constant tension between control and release. What began as an internal and often private struggle has evolved into a raw visual language — one that embraces vulnerability, movement, imperfection, and emotional honesty.
Rather than pursuing refinement or polish, Hovis allows instinct, interruption, and subconscious gesture to guide the work. The resulting paintings and drawings exist as unfiltered reflections of psychological intensity and human fragility, inviting viewers into a space that feels immediate, exposed, and deeply human.
Presented during Tourette’s Awareness Month in collaboration with the Tourette Association of America, the exhibition offers both a personal testimony and a broader conversation about visibility, neurodivergence, and the transformative power of creative expression.
