It quickly evolved into the city's pride and joy, a tradition that returns for its 43rd year in 2021. El Paso tells four centuries of our history through song, dance and drama. The show, now directed by Cody Ritchey
with a script by Marty Martin, is a musical theatre extravaganza featuring moments depicting the Spanish Conquest, the Mexican border influence and Westward expansion of the United States. The current show features several of the elements (including the iconic Deer Dance) that have been popular with audiences for years, as well as new material, including music by El Paso's own Jim Ward and Cody Ritchey. It is produced by a partnership of El Paso International & Cultural Arts, El Paso Live, and the El Paso Community Foundation.
