El Paso Summer Musical Theatre Intensive presents A Million Dreams: A collection of songs that celebrate the dreamer in all of us... A devised musical r***e that explores that rarest and most powerful of places, the space where we dream. A Million Dreams finds its heartbeat in the best music of Broadway and beyond and its roots in “cabaret,” evoking a sense of intimacy and shared experiences. Since our first footsteps on this planet, dreams are one of the most mysterious and intriguing functions of the brain whether we’re daydreaming or fast asleep. We may be slaying dragons, falling in love, or flying over mountains or oceans, but we all dream. Dreams have sparked some of mankind’s greatest work, inspiring artists, and scientists, alike. In A Million Dreams we invite you to share those spaces and dream a little dream with us... The cast includes Lauren Cook, Joaquin Porras, Abrianna Davila, David Martinez, Morgan Baily, Nia Hernandez, Apollo Smith, Sofia McMahon, Justina Tanabe, Kal Spencer, Aspen Conrad and Marianne Martinez. These gifted young performers will take you through an introspective and uplifting journey featuring group numbers, solos and duets by some our best composers, from Sondheim to the Mamas and the Papas, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Pasek & Paul, and more. Kimberley Wolfenbarger-Nakamoto shared, “The devised format that a musical r***e allows, is a great teaching tool because it enables us to tailor the material to the specific talents of our students. That’s not always possible with a standard musical.”

El Paso Performances: Thursday, July 7th and Friday July 8th at 7:00pm with a 1:30pm matinee on Saturday, July 9th at Western Hills United Methodist Church’s Stewart Family Life Center – 524 Thunderbird Drive, El Paso, TX 79912.

Company History

In the summer of 2016 we saw that there was a lack of performance opportunities for all ages. Though El Paso has other theaters; we felt as though there could be another space that could give the performance community here an outlet to be artistic. As patrons and performers of the other surrounding theaters we wanted to add to the opportunities here, not take away. So we decided to found a company called Sun City Musical Theatre. With many donations, volunteers, fundraisers, hard work, blood, sweat and tears we were able to produce 7 full length musical productions as well as an original Christmas play and upwards of 9 fully staged dinner and fundraiser r***es. To our dismay, the artistic director and founder was diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2017 and stepped down and allowed a different company to use the space.

After a few meetings, and with the news that her cancer was in remission - there was a new theatre opportunity that was being founded. Now with a new name, board, and venue we have come back and will be fully operating under the name of Mt. Olympus Musical Theatre Company. Together with several dedicated board members we have formed a new artistic staff that is dedicated to bringing the community top quality performances. We hope to have special guests, fundraise for the local cancer societies as well as include special needs actors not only on stage but also providing special sensory showings. Our goal is to support other company’s as well as giving people a place to call home.

Having moved out of the old space by the airport and into the new space downtown, we are currently planning outreach performances and narrowing down what shows we want to do for the start of 2019. We aim to have the new space done and show ready by Christmas so that we can ring in the new year with auditions and a full length production. If you are interested in volunteering, auditioning, or coming to see us please keep following this page for updates as well as our email and website.

We are dedicated to the preservation, development and advancement of musical theatre in El Paso.
