PASOS at el Rubin featured student on view through June 2

Untitled (2025)

In this ceramic vessel, Flores creates a double-walled form that holds personal objects and layered memories, where experiences are felt as much as they are remembered. Symbolic imagery moves through the piece, including a horse shown in states of collapse and renewal, suggesting a cycle from despair to restored faith.

Candlesticks and melting wax speak to cleansing, comfort, and emotional release, reflecting the artist’s own rituals during moments of overwhelm. Through the physical process of ceramics, Flores transforms personal experience into a space for reflection and healing.

En esta vasija de cerámica, Flores crea una forma de doble pared que contiene objetos personales y memorias en capas, donde las experiencias se sienten tanto como se recuerdan. La imagen simbólica atraviesa la pieza, incluyendo un caballo representado en estados de colapso y renovación, sugiriendo un ciclo de la desesperación a la fe restaurada.

Los candelabros y la cera derretida hablan de limpieza, consuelo y liberación emocional, reflejando los rituales de la artista en momentos de sobrecarga. A través del proceso físico de la cerámica, Flores transforma la experiencia personal en un espacio de reflexión y sanación.

We are hiring a Graphic Design Student Assistant!
Gain hands-on experience in graphic design, marketing, social media, photography, and contemporary arts administration while working on real projects for exhibitions and public programs.

Preferred skills include:
• Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
• Graphic design & visual communication
• Social media content creation
• Photography/video experience is a plus

$12/hr • Up to 19 hrs/week
Open to UTEP students with a minimum 2.0 GPA.
