This isn't for praise or a victory lap. (While I do like people recognizing the tremendous effort) This is for anyone who knows what it feels like to be dismissed.
At 415+ lbs, the world treated me differently. I was excluded from activities, assumed to be intimidating without speaking, and even told there wasn't enough physical space for me in people's homes. Despite always being active, almost every doctor I encountered gave me the exact same surface-level brush-off: "eat less, move more." No investigation. No root causes. No past history.
It took five years to finally find medical professionals who treated me like a human being, listened, and helped me solve the actual issues.
Getting down to 240 lbs was a team effort. If you are fighting your own battle and being dismissed by the people who are supposed to help you, keep pushing. There are providers out there who will hear you.
