Before people recognized Trent, they recognized his trampoline video.
This picture is from an autism conference where we had set up a Drawings by Trent booth to sell some of Trent’s products. Back then, we had maybe three or four shirt styles, greeting cards, some prints, and a few other random items for sale.
At the time, Trent was only semi-famous from the trampoline video. A lot of people knew the clip, but they didn’t necessarily recognize Trent apart from it. It wasn’t until 2021 that we figured out you actually have to post OFTEN if you want to grow on social media. 😂
So to help get the attention of people walking by, we set up a TV and played Trent’s trampoline video on a loop. And it worked pretty well! Several people stopped and said, “I know that video!”
We haven’t had to do that in quite some time, because now people often recognize Trent himself. That still amazes us.
This talented guy, who struggled so much just to be around people when he was growing up, is now loved by people all over the world. And what makes it even sweeter is that Trent really does seem to enjoy the recognition and kindness he receives from his fans.
We are so grateful for the way people have loved Trent, celebrated his art, and helped make Drawings by Trent what it is today.
