This fella almost wore me down. I have worked, added, subtracted, wiped out, re-added all week long - sooo people, when you say Art is SOO Relaxing, I have to bite my tongue. The trouble started when I wanted to combine 3 different photos of different locations to create ONE cohesive painting to fit my 18X36 canvas. This is a Difficulty of Olympic 10. Anyway, he is most likely finished - I'll have to walk past him for a while to see if he stands. In Oil on canvas "Left Undisturbed" is his hopeful name.

Quickly smeared this one out yesterday - I paint like I'm scrubbing a floor, lol. I press hard with a big short scrubby brush which I hold like a butter knife. I'm wearing rubber gloves since it's oil paint and much of the first canvas coverage is smeared in with fingers. So it was almost all done but this afternoon, I took a tiny tip brush and added those sticks and stems and some detail around the foliage - that took longer than all of yesterday. For the mood when I started I had intended to call it Rock Bottom but it painting makes me happy so it ended up looking too cheery for that. "Soul Medicine" it is 14x18 oil on canvas

Tried something different - Blank White canvas is intimidating so I smeared in some bright complementary colors to all the greens in my photo. They don't show much but they add a little pizazz to work against. Really got into the zone on this one - when I regained myself, "Footloose" was playing on Alexa - No wonder I was painting those leaves so fast! So "Footloose" it is - 14x18 oil on canvas.

Today - wash dishes, wash clothes, start a painting, wash another load, take a nap, wash another load, paint more and lose track of all time until someone hollers "hungry"... This was really a FUN one. It is smaller 14x18 oil on canvas and I smeared a lot with fingers(rubber gloves on) and big scrubby brush before getting down to the smaller marks. I'm calling it "Fern Gully". I likey.

I tried out my new Lukas Water Soluble Oils this week on a Giant Black Canvas 30x40. I have tried Water Soluble Oils in the past - the most well known brands were hard and stiff, they didn't mix or blend well. When I read the reviews on Lukas brand, the words "creamy and buttery" were what I wanted to hear. My Verdict - I Love them! They were indeed buttery and easy to blend.with the Winsor Newton Water Mixable Thinner. Low Odor and Wash up hands, brushes with soap and water is a SO Nice. Sooo, since I'm not Rolling Anywhere much Lately, I'm callin it "Gathering Moss".

This is one that has been sitting here 'reflecting on it's behavior' for a month or more. I wiped and changed it Multiple times. Finally yesterday, I added the blue to the leaves and the black around the red flower area - POP. It finally capitulated so now we can both move on with our lives ..."Whoopla" 20x20 watermedia on canvas.
