Welcome to the "Listening to Door County Artists" series of panel conversations! On Tuesday evenings during the months of May and June, you are invited to sit with and listen to almost fifty of Door County's resident artists. These very enlightening conversations are focused on the artists, giving each an opportunity to talk about their practice and for our community to listen. Each event will focus on artists in specific mediums: musicians, visual artists, actors, writers, film makers and women visual artists.
We hope you will join us and learn about some of the artists who have planted seeds and established roots in our Door County artistic community.
Our panel conversation celebrates the following visionary Door County Film Makers! We look forward in you joining us.
The filmmakers' panel conversation will be moderated by Alan Kepischke Assistant Professor, Department of Theatre & Dance, UNW-Green Bay and Producer of the Door Kinetic Arts Festival. The accomplished panel members are: Aaron Fischer, filmmaker and co-owner of multi-media production company, Piranha North Studio; Brett Kesmider, documentary filmmaker, co-owner of Peninsula Filmworks and recent documentarian of Ridge and Swale; Kurt Krauss, independent film director/producer, recent credits include, The Last Rung on the Ladder and From the Furnace; Craig Newman, Producer, Slatestone Media and worked in visual effects and animation on major film productions for Disney, Dreamworks and others; Chris Opper, filmmaker, minigolf enthusiast and Director for the Door County Short Film Festival and Kevin Wehrenberg, current owner/operator of Stone Hedge Golf and Pub and was an Executive Producer for many hit pop culture television shows: Fear Factor, Slip Nβ Slip and others.
