Join us as we support our friend, brother, and festival co-founder Garrett Burris

B+enefit Concert for Garrett Burris: Dinner, Auction & The Last Waltz 50th Anniversary

Who:
Poss Music Works, an Effingham-based nonprofit concert company, is honored to present the B+enefit Concert for Garrett Burris: Dinner, Auction & The Last Waltz 50th Anniversary.

The evening will feature Garrett Burris with Time To Kill, along with special guests from the Effingham-area music scene, performing the iconic final concert by The Band from 1976. Originally held as a Thanksgiving concert in San Francisco, the star-studded event was filmed and adapted into a major motion picture directed by Martin Scorsese in 1978.

What:
Join Garrett’s friends, family, and members of the Effingham-area music scene and beyond for an evening of music and community in support of Garrett as he battles plasma cell leukemia.

The event will include a silent auction, raffles, dinner, and a special performance of The Last Waltz by Garrett Burris with Time To Kill and special guests.

When:
Wednesday, November 25, 2026
5:30 p.m. – Doors open, silent auction begins, and cocktail hour
6:30 p.m. – Dinner
7:15 p.m. – Set 1 of The Last Waltz
8:15–9:00 p.m. – Announcements and raffles
9:00 p.m. – Silent auction closes
9:00–10:00 p.m. – Set 2 of The Last Waltz

Effingham VFW
2304 S. Veterans Dr.
Effingham, IL 62401

Why:
Proceeds will benefit Garrett Burris as he undergoes treatment and recovery for plasma cell leukemia. He expects to be unable to work for at least a year and will need financial assistance to help ease the financial burden of facing this difficult disease while away from work.

Ticket Prices:
$30 – Benefit ticket (does not include dinner)
$50 – Benefit ticket (includes dinner)
$500 – VIP table (includes dinner for eight, premium seating, and gifts for the table)

We had the best time out in Effingham, IL for Summer Sundown Music Festival last night. The music was fantastic all around. It was a real treat hanging with our friends in MoonShroom, and Justin Rose & The Green Thumbs. We saw a lot of friends and made some new ones to boot! It has been way too long since we hit that stage at Lake Sara and we are super grateful for Poss Music Works, Garrett Burris, and their team for all the hard work they do. It takes a big ole team from the volunteers, to the stage hands, front of house, vendors, merchandise folks and a ton more we are forgetting, but damn! What a fantastic event!! Thank you so much for having us. We sure hope to join you again sometime, somewhere down the road.

Today we are having a home town throw down! Let’s all meet up at The Silo at Route 3 for some family friendly fun in good ole Waterloo, IL. Music hits 7-10pm, time to dance! 💃 🪩 🕺
