Dear lovely followers! We are so thrilled to share that on November 1, 2027, we’re passing the Maker+Stitch torch to our new owner, Natalie Thompson💛 (photos of the three of us hugging coming soon 😉). Natalie has been a customer of ours for years; she is a local yarn dyer and spinner who has lived in the valley for almost 20 years. Natalie is excited to create the next chapter for Maker+Stitch, including everything we’ve built together and fresh new energy to take it to the next level. She plans knit-a-longs, in-store project nights, happy hours, etc!
Nine years ago, a hiking and knitting trip to Iceland gave Cathryn and Liza an idea: a cozy place in the Vail Valley where people could connect over fiber..and maybe a little bit of “hiking” 🧶.
You filled our couch with laughter, support, connection, advice about knitting, crocheting, life, contractors, you name it. These conversations cross every generation and have connected people from all over the world and even people from around the corner. You saw and supported us through hard times and celebrated the good ones with us.
📍 The shop is moving to a new home at Riverwalk, between The Boardroom and The Alpine Art Studio.
🛒 Our online shop will stay open throughout the move.
⏸️ The shop will close briefly from November 1st until around Thanksgiving (stay tuned for more on exact re-opening date) for the move.
