Appreciation post ahead!!! Please read!
And just like that, the 77th annual Jackson County Youth Fair is in the books!
Our Fair Board spends countless hours planning and preparing, but it takes an amazing group of committees, volunteers, and supporters to bring it all together. We are so grateful for everyone who gives their time and talents to make our fair a success! It truly takes a village, and we have the BEST!
Auction day is full of a lot of moving parts to make everything flow smoothly. The following groups of people deserve some recognition for all their hard work!
Auction Committee + helpers: These guys and gals truly work behind the scenes, spending countless hours before and after the show entering new buyers, preparing the sale order, and handling all the details needed to make the auction run smoothly. On Auction Day, their endurance really shines. Committee members hand-enter every buyer’s bid made on exhibitor cards into the computer, working as quickly and accurately as possible so everything is entered by midnight. Another dedicated group works in the auction office throughout the afternoon and evening, collecting payments and entering those transactions as well. These folks deserve our sincere thanks for all they do each year to make our auction a success. We are so grateful for their time, hard work, and commitment!
Layne Fuller, Mindy Curlee, Tyler Muschalek, Dee, Darilek, Kendra Boone, Mandi Ressman, Jamye Muegge, Sarah Bradley, Cari Jackson, Kimberly Karl, Valerie Novian, Laraina Hase, Brandon Curlee, Hunter Karl
Number crunchers: As exhibitors sell, their cards are brought over to the adding table to make sure the balance on their exhibitor card and sale amount match up. They are quick on the calculators, accurate, and dependable, and we couldn’t do it without them!
Savannah Depine, Sheila Miller, Trisha Kallus, Anna Utz, Tiffany Carroll, Lisa Kallus
Auction floor runners: These ladies walk with our exhibitors after they sell to go shake the hand of their cardholder and verify their disposition sheets. They are a great help on the auction floor!
Lisa Bullock, Melody Egg, Christi Rozner, Charlotte Frenzel, Misty Steffek
Fairies: These sweet ladies keep our buyers and volunteers comfortable and taken care of throughout the fair by providing drinks, snacks, and plenty of smiles! Their kindness and hospitality never go unnoticed, and we are so thankful for all they do!
Christina Tarver, Sabrina Peters, Valerie Novian, Jessica Marthiljohni, Monica Lee, Savannah Depine, Tiffany Carroll, Patricia Kallus, and Leslie Kallus
Buyer registration workers: These ladies help welcome our buyers, get new buyers registered, and make sure everyone is ready for the auction! Their friendly faces and willingness to help keep things running smoothly, and we are so thankful for all they do!
Lesli Tipton, Lisa Larkin, Priscilla Smith, Emily Green, Elizabeth Sommerfeld, Jeannie Smith
Card Readers/announcers: Speed reading is truly their speciality and they talk just about as fast as our auctioneer! They help get the buyers announced quickly so the auction stays on track!
Sydney Peters, Kendra Boone, Courtney Mercer, Candace Whittley, Sarah Mercer Bradley
Again, THANK YOU to all of these and many other volunteers who work to help our fair be as successful as it is!
