“If The Golden Girls was rebooted today, it would look much like Four Old Broads, a clever geriatric comedy.” – Carolina Curtain Call

Season 19 will include over-the-top comedy Four Old Broads by Leslie Kimbell!

'Retired burlesque queen Beatrice Shelton desperately needs a vacation – and NOT another trip up to Helen, Georgia to see that “precious little German village for the umpteenth time.” A Sassy Seniors Cruise through the Caribbean may be just the ticket if she can just convince her best friend, Eaddy Mae Clayton, to stop praying and go with her. Unfortunately, things have not been very pleasant at Magnolia Place Assisted Living since Nurse Pat Jones began working there. The newest resident, Imogene Fletcher, is suddenly losing her memory. Maude Jenkins is obsessed with her favorite soap opera and planning her own funeral. Sam Smith, retired Elvis impersonator, keeps trying to bed every woman in the building. A mystery unfolds with laughter as the gals try to outsmart the evil Nurse Pat Jones and figure out why so many residents have been moved to “the dark side,” what exactly IS that mysterious pill, and what happened to Doctor Head? Hilarity ensues as Imogene goes undercover and Maude enters the Miss Magnolia Senior Citizen Pageant to throw Pat off their trail. If they can solve the mystery, they may make it to the cruise ship after all.'

Directed by Renee Gilbert who’s making a bit of a name for herself directing the PNW’s most talented women over 50.

Steven Deitz is one of America’s most produced playwrights and he has a long history here in Seattle. We’re thrilled to be putting on his play, Over the Moon in Season 19!

'Hapless artist George Finch is head over heels in love with the sublime Molly Waddington, who enthusiastically returns the sentiment. However, Molly's disapproving stepmother would rather marry Molly off to someone with a lot more class. With the dubious help of his know-it-all friend, Molly's would-be cowboy father, a policeman who aspires to be a poet, a reformed crook, a fortune teller and a femme-fatale pickpocket, George launches a series of hilarious schemes to make his dream of marrying Molly come true.'

Over the Moon is a romantic comedy set in the roaring 1920’s and will be directed by Eric Lewis. The play is adapted from The Small Bachelor written by P. G. Wodehouse.

Subscriptions are available in person during Murder On West Moon Street starting May 29th!

Season 19's 3rd mainstage show will be Exit, Pursued By A Bear by Lauren Gunderson.

Nan is a woman who has endured years of abuse from her husband, Kyle. With the help of her best friend Simon and a cheerful stripper named Sweetheart, Nan devises a dramatic plan to confront Kyle and make him understand the consequences of his actions. Inspired by Shakespeare’s stage direction in The Winter’s Tale, “Exit, pursued by a bear,” Nan and her allies hold Kyle hostage and reenact scenes from their past, culminating in a plan to cover the room with meat and honey. Will Kyle will face his action head-on or will he meet his many-clawed fate?

This "Good for her", darkly brilliant comedy that is a little different from our usual fare, will delight and enthrall you in Season 19. Written by Lauren Gunderson and directed by Eric Lewis.

Are you ready for Season 19?? Today we're sharing the line up of scripted comedy plays that will be tickling your funny bone next season!

First up is one of the absolute funniest plays ever written: The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 by John Bishop!

The story is set in December 1940 at a mansion in Chappaqua, New York, owned by the eccentric theatre financier Elsa Von Grossenknueten. Elsa has invited a group of theatre professionals for a backer’s audition for a new musical, White House Merry-Go-Round.

The group shares a dark past: they were involved in a previous musical, Manhattan Holiday, during which the “Stage Door Slasher” murdered three chorus girls. As the play unfolds, the mansion becomes a chaotic scene of murders, mistaken identities, secret passageways, blizzards, and slapstick comedy, creating a fast-paced, Agatha Christie–meets-Clue parody.

Written by John Bishop and directed by Keith Dahlgren , this show is a constant request from patrons and we’re so excited to finally bring it to you to open Season 19 in October!

Don’t miss a sell-out! Subscribe or Re-Subscribe as early at May 29th—Season subs go on sale in person when our current production Murder On West Moon Street by Rob Urbinati opens next Friday!
