Edmonds Driftwood Players is a volunteer-based, 501(c)3 non-profit community theater that has been entertaining and educating the community since 1958, making us one of the oldest continually operatin

g community theaters in Washington State. In addition, we produce an annual Festival of Shorts, which consists of short plays centered around a different theme each year. Eight plays are selected from hundreds of submissions.

Synopsis: This holiday comedy features small-town coffeeshop owners Sage & Markie. They reveal the tale of how Mrs. Claus, neglected by her busy husband, abandons him and returns to her hometown the week before Christmas, to make sense of her life. Mrs. Claus encounters a handsome old high school acquaintance and considers pursuing the temptation, but when Mr. Claus shows up in pursuit of her, she must decide to either reconcile with her spouse or embrace the melodramatic holiday magic of what could still be.

Featuring the acting talents of: Michael Galvin, Cara Thomas, Christina Williams, Dawn Cornell, Joey Tirado, Shelby Windom, Andrew Carroll, Misaki Teranishi, and James Lyle.

Expected Run Time: 110 minutes, with no intermission. A Playwright Feedback session will be held after the reading and is encouraged but optional to stay and participate.

Content Warning(s): mild adult language and comic violence, fantasy characters, and irreverent Christmas references.

🎭Show Synopsis: Broadway heavy hitters, Alan Menken and Lynn Ahrens breathe fantastic new life into the classic tale of A Christmas Carol. Ebenezer Scrooge is a prosperous curmudgeon who believes that personal wealth is far more valuable than the happiness and comfort of others. With an infuriated “Bah! Humbug!” Scrooge summates his feelings of Christmas tidings and charitable giving, but he’s forced to face his selfish ways when three ghosts on Christmas Eve lead him through his Past, Present and Future. A Christmas Carol is a spectacular adaptation of Charles Dickens’ most well-known story.

🎉EDP is proud to announce our 2026 AC & Norma Gehrig Scholarship Recipient, Lynx Beaky!

Lynx will attend Roosevelt University this fall to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre.

The AC & Norma Gehrig Scholarship was created by longtime EDP member, volunteer, past board director and office manager, Keith Gehrig to honor his parents.

Dorothy is a graduate of Edmonds-Woodway High School and is continuing her studies at Emerson College, pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre and Performance.
